Types of Leave in Albania

Sick Leave:

Sick leave laws in Albania provide that the employer needs to pay 80% salary for at least 14 days of sick leave. After such a threshold, the employee may access to further sick leave days paid by Social Security. 

Maternity Leave:

Maternity leave regulations include a minimum of 98 days of paid leave for the birth of one child. More than 1 child in the household calls for a minimum of 125 days of paid maternity leave. 

Paternity Leave:

Albanian law calls for three paid paternity leave days. 

Unpaid Childcare Leave:

Albania has unpaid leave options for parents within 6 years of an adoption or birth and before the child is 12 years old.
